Training Administrator

At the present time we regret to say that we have no openings available.

GBdirect has a vacancy for a bright and organised person who wants to put their skills to use in organising our training delivery programme. The position is based in our Bradford office close to both rail connections in Little Germany.

Our training division is well-established and successful, based on our reputation for offering a wide range of products and our attention to detail in getting our customer service right.

The job involves a wide range of activities predominantly centred around our training services. Once a training booking has been received the process of ensuring that our customers receive a seamless and enjoyable experience requires concentration and attention to detail. Training facilities need to be organised, equipment and shipping must be scheduled, notes need to be printed and shipped, trainers allocated, books purchased, course joining instructions sent and customer enquiries dealt with. Besides that we also need to produce suitable financial reports, invoicing information and regular sales tracking updates together with collated delegate comments and evaluations.

Not only do these core business activities need to proceed like clockwork but there are also numerous other jobs that emerge from time to time as well as dealing with customer bookings out of the blue. Customer care is important, so the job will involve getting to know customers, understanding their requirements and objectives and to determine other ways in which we can help to meet their needs beyond the first enquiry. Telephone and written follow-up will be an important part of the job.

We are a tight team with a strong culture. Anyone who joins must enjoy working as part of a collaborative team whilst understanding that you have to take responsibility for your own actions. You will have to prove a track record of enthusiasm, excellent organisational skills and personal commitment.

Although we deal with a large volume of training, we offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, more like a family than a large impersonal business.

Candidates will need to demonstrate intelligence, a track record of self-organisation and attention to detail as well as all those qualities that every job seems to ask for - so we won't insult your intelligence with all the 'motivated', 'self starter' stuff and so on.

Prior experience in a similar role helps but is not essential. We expect the job to adapt to the person and the person to the job.

Since you will be preparing proposals and emails for clients, you must possess excellent English spelling and grammar skills (at least not noticeably worse than this outline, anyhow). A good telephone manner will be important.

Good computer literacy skills are essential as the majority of our systems are computer-based.

We like to work with light supervision. We presume that our staff don't have to be constantly reminded to turn up on time; also that if something was promised today, then tomorrow is not 'good enough'. You won't be happy working with us if you don't have pride in your work and a determination to get things done. You will have a reputation amongst your friends as the one who always remembers things, cool and efficient.

To save both you and us time, here are some of the points that would certainly be considered mandatory before progressing to an interview:

As part of the interview process we will ask you to provide some evidence that you meet the criteria outlined above. Useful supporting materials to the generic CV will include:

The position reports directly to the managing director, who will take responsibility for discussing and approving job specification and employment issues.

The level of pay offered will be chosen based on ability and prior experience.

We offer four weeks paid holiday per year and a friendly office environment.

To apply for the job, please do not phone but instead submit your questions or CV by email to jobs@gbdirect.co.uk.
